Dr. David Grosswald studied pre-medical sciences at the University of Georgia from 1984 to 1988. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Physiologic Optics in 1990 and earned his Doctorate of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry in 1992.
Dr. Grosswald is the founder and director of The Eye Center. He is particularly interested in serving patients with the latest diagnostic and practice management technologies. In doing so, the practice provides more efficient care while assuring a more impressionable experience for the patient.
Dr. Grosswald has extensive experience in providing specialty contact lens services, particularly with orthokeratology and scleral lens designs. The WAVE custom design software is the primary tool for achieving lens designs. This software permits infinitely adjustable fitting and optical parameters necessary for success with challenging cases.
Specialty contact lens professionals see Dr. Grosswald as an "opinion leader" and a pioneer of lens design concepts. He frequently lectures on custom contact lens designs and practice management concepts.
After years of seeing "sick" patients with equally "sick eyes," Dr. Grosswald determined the root causes for many eye conditions we see daily.
He has become a voracious scholar of integrative medicine and how it applies to more comprehensive management of diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and glaucoma. He aims to promote and foster overall patient wellness to ensure optimal eye health and visual function.
Dr. David Grosswald is a third-generation native of Atlanta, Georgia. He enjoys his free time with his wife, Suzanne, and four sons.
